Vigilante Studio can support voice-over, narration, spoken-word and advert projects where the script, voice and production brief are already defined.
The service covers recording and audio post-production. It is not a casting service, talent directory or route for voice artists seeking representation.
Start with the script and intended use
A voice recording for an advert, film, presentation, audiobook extract or spoken-word release can have different timing, performance and delivery requirements.
Send the script length, intended use, deadline, supplied voice details and any technical specification from the producer, broadcaster or platform. Rupert will confirm whether the recording should be made at Vigilante or supplied for editing and post-production.
Recording that serves the words
The voice should sound appropriate to the material rather than processed for effect by default. Microphone choice, performance distance, room sound and editing all influence whether the result feels intimate, direct, authoritative or natural.
Where a recording session is involved, the scope is agreed in advance. Vigilante Studio is not presented as an open room-hire or audition facility.
Editing and delivery
Post-production can include editing takes, removing unwanted noise, managing breaths where appropriate, balancing level and preparing the agreed files.
The final format, naming and duration requirements should be supplied before delivery. Broadcast, film and online uses may require different specifications, so do not assume one file suits every destination.
Supplied recordings
If the voice has already been recorded, send the best original file available. Compressed messaging-app audio or heavily processed files may limit what can be improved.
Audio restoration can be added where the source contains noise or other faults, but the likely result depends on the recording.
Questions about voice-over recording
Do you provide voice talent?
No. Voice talent is not supplied as part of this service. Projects begin with the voice and brief already supplied or agreed.
Can you edit a voice-over recorded elsewhere?
Yes, where the source quality and brief are suitable. Send the original recording and required delivery specification after the project is agreed.
Can I book the studio for an audition?
Vigilante Studio is not offered as a general audition or self-service room-hire facility. Discuss the actual production requirement with Rupert.
